  • Business Motivation Expert and Seriously Funny Guy STEVE RIZZO on Choosing Your Words Carefully

The Attitude Adjuster STEVE RIZZO advises us to Speak Words That Empower:

We need to be especially careful about the words we speak out loud when things aren't going the way we want. Yes, it's true that what you think is what you get, but what you say out loud in the midst of troubling times has even greater impact on how long you stay in those situations, and how deeply you are affected by the situation.

The words you speak amplify your feelings and trigger mental images. Your feelings lead to the actions that you take and the actions that you take lead to the outcome. In other words, my friend: if what you think is what you get, then what you say is what you ask for. If you're always thinking about how badly life is treating you, and telling whoever will stand still long enough to regret doing so about how you can't get a fair shake, you will always feel miserable. Ever hear anyone say, “Misery loves company”? Being miserable doesn't exactly attract good things to you. Get it? If you want to change your life for the better, start by consciously changing what you think...and what you say.

  • Speakers Donate Time for Departing Airline Staff

Steve Rizzo and Jon Wee and Owen Morse of The Passing Zone have joined together to impart optimism and empower staff at a soon-to-close American Airlines call center in Windsor, CT.

The private event for the 500 employees of the American Airlines call center will be held September 8 at 7 p.m. at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville. All costs associated with the event have been sponsored.

The event, themed Don’t Stop Believin’ brings together five industries that have been hit by the current economy in an act of mutual support. Rizzo learned of the pending closure from the workers at the Windsor call center; he decided he should help the departing workers find opportunity and optimism through this difficult time. He called upon his friends Wee and Morse of The Passing Zone to assist him and enlisted the aid of Diane Goodman, owner of Goodman Speakers Bureau.
The event will convey the message that in times of economic distress, opportunities don’t disappear, but simply manifest in new and different ways.

"These are trying times," says Steve, "It's time we all look at the big picture and ask ourselves what it is that we can do to help each other." The message: "Pay it forward.”
